Thank you to those of you who have contributed to our Giving Tuesday CoMoGives campaign so far! We have exceeded our $25,000 goal for today and are well on our way toward our year-end goal of $50,000!!
When you give to City of Refuge, you are making a significant impact in the lives of over 1200 refugees that we serve on an annual basis in Mid-Missouri.
In the last year, approximately 300 Afghan refugees arrived here in Columbia after the Taliban took over the government of Afghanistan. Many of these newcomers have become our friends, faces we see on a regular basis. We have enjoyed sharing tea with them, been hosted in their homes for delicious meals, and helped with getting basic needs & items for their families. We have assisted them with housing, driver’s licenses, education, credit scores, and more.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your support last year.
The financial gifts we received at the end of 2021 set us on trajectory in 2022 that allowed us to step more fully into the lives of those who needed friendship and assistance navigating a new way forward.
As conflicts around the world increase, your contributions will pave the way for us to serve and celebrate more of our neighbors as they arrive from war torn countries.
