City Preschool is a cross-cultural preschool that exists to support the social-emotional and language development of children ages three to five years. We gladly welcome children from refugee families and those from the broader community into a safe and caring environment where they are encouraged to explore through active learning, problem-solving and engaging experiences.

Our Approach to Learning

At City Preschool, we believe that young children learn best through play and shared control. Daily, we provide a variety of opportunities for children to make choices about their activities while learning to approach challenges with confidence.

Our goal is to support and encourage our preschoolers as they develop the interpersonal and cooperative skills that will enable them to navigate their world. In addition, we seek to practice a two-generational approach to family engagement, understanding that, when parents/guardians thrive, children do, too!

Children must be potty trained.

Schedule information

A typical day at City Preschool includes outdoor play on our playground, circle time where we sing songs and have story time, free play and snacks before pick up at 12:20.

City Preschool operates on a similar calendar to Columbia Public Schools; Fall semesters run mid-August through mid-December, spring semesters run early January through mid-May, and our summer program runs during the month of June.

Tuition information

City Preschool offers several part-time preschool options:

Monday through Friday – 8:30am-12:20pm: $450/month

Monday/Wednesday/Friday – 8:30am-12:20pm: $275/month

Tuesday/Thursday – 8:30am-12:20pm: $185/month

Payment: Can be paid through One-Time, Weekly, Bi-Weekly or Monthly payments) **All tuition is non-refundable & non-transferrable.

We love City Preschool so much. We are incredibly grateful for all the support, care, and involvement from every educator. The love and attention City Preschool provides has meant so much to our family, and my daughter has absolutely thrived in their care.
