African Market International Food Market is owned by Mahinga Tubirori, a refugee from the Congo. After getting tired of driving to St. Louis to buy the African food he loved, he opened his own. Not only does he provide the taste-of-home products, but he also works to build relationships with his customers and helps them whenever they are in need. At the beginning of the pandemic, Tubirori gave his cell number to customers and offered to deliver food when they couldn’t make it to the store.
When a customer finds something at the African Market they couldn’t find in a big-box store, he knows he’s done his job! We are very proud of Mahinga and grateful for what he provides to our community!

African Market is located at 1004 Old 63 N, Columbia, MO 65201. It is open 9:30 AM-7 PM Monday-Saturday, closed Sunday.
